Word Chain Guides

Leaderboard Rules

A leaderboard only works if players trust it. If the board mixes different setups or rewards messy edge cases, the numbers stop meaning much. These notes explain what is ranked and what tends to hold up over repeated runs.

Daily and global boards answer different questions.Scores make more sense when you read them in difficulty context.Reliable runs usually beat reckless ones over time.

Ranking model

  • Best score ranks high-scoring runs.
  • Best streak ranks sustained consistency.
  • Daily board compares players on the same daily setup.

How to improve rank

The safer pattern is simple: get through the opening cleanly, then lean into longer words once combo is doing real work. Trying to force huge turns from move one looks ambitious and usually ends badly.

Fair play expectations

Leaderboards are meant to reflect actual play. If a run depends on automation, exploits, or some weird loophole, it does not belong there. The point is repeatable skill.

Quick answers

What is the difference between Daily and Global leaderboard?

Daily compares players on the same date setup, while Global tracks best long-term results by difficulty.

How are leaderboard positions ranked?

Chain boards rank by best score or best streak. Wordy board ranks by fastest completion time.

Why does leaderboard look empty sometimes?

An empty state means there are no qualifying submissions yet for that selected scope and metric.

Can I improve rank without risky openings?

Yes. Stable early chains and lower-error continuation usually outperform volatile starts in repeatable ranking.
