What makes daily fair

The date is the seed. It fixes the opening word, the order the goals arrive in, and which boost cards you get offered. Difficulty comes from the challenge rather than from your own settings, and that is not a small detail, because the difficulty bonus adds points and time to every single word you play. The opening word is handed to you and scores nothing.

The first few words

The opening is cheap and the endgame is expensive, so it is worth spending the early words setting yourself up rather than reaching for something clever. Each goal you clear raises the minimum word length by one, up to three letters more than you started with. The timer drains faster for every word you have played, whether or not you are clearing goals: about 4 percent per word at first, easing to about 1 percent late in a long run. The five-letter word that was fine at the start may not be legal later, and will definitely cost more clock.

• Land on letters you can start from easily, and save the awkward ones for when the multiplier is high.
• Clear the first goal early, while the timer is still slow.
• Keep one short, safe word in mind for the moments when the timer is nearly out.

When to push for big words

A long word is worth more when the multiplier is high, and the multiplier only climbs while you leave the pot alone, so pushing pays best somewhere past x3. The exception is a timer in the red. Bank first and think afterwards, because a small guaranteed payout beats a big one you never collect.
