Word Chain Examples That Actually Help In-Game

A sample chain is only helpful if it looks like something you would actually use in a live round. The examples below are here to show what a healthy turn feels like and why some endings are much easier to work with than others.

Good chains leave flexible starting letters for your next turn.Hard mode examples should train 2-letter awareness.Theme rounds are great for groups, but keep base rules unchanged.

Easy and Normal examples

These chains keep the next starting letter usable. Endings like e, r, n, and t are easier to extend than niche endings.

  • cloud -> dragon -> note -> ember
  • apple -> echo -> opal -> lunar
  • stone -> ember -> river -> rover

Hard mode examples (2-letter chaining)

Hard mode is about spotting 2-letter bridges quickly. Practice reading the final pair before you submit the current word.

  • cabin -> inlay -> ayin
  • driver -> erode -> denim
